Have you ever edited an image using AI and uploaded it to Social Media? Have you noticed that when you generate / edit an image using AI and upload it to Facebook directly from the same device, Facebook adds an AI Content tag to that image, which you cannot remove?

So, how does the mechanism behind this actually work? — Nothing complicated, it's simply because of Image Metadata. Actually, after generating an image, ChatGPT or Gemini adds its own invisible signature to it. You might not be able to see it in the image itself, but if you open the image's Raw Code in an IDE, you can see those signatures. These are called Image Metadata, which contains all sorts of information, such as which camera was used to take the photo, where it was taken, what settings were used, etc.

So, if you take an image generated / edited using ChatGPT or Gemini and remove that Metadata, will Facebook still be able to add the AI Content tag? — Absolutely not.

Then how can you do this easily? — You may have noticed that if you generate an image using AI and send it to someone through WhatsApp or Messenger, then download it from there and post it, the AI Content label doesn't appear. This is because Social Messaging channels degrade your image quality to save their server storage, and they also remove the Metadata to reduce the image size as much as possible. So, this can be one solution, but the problem is that the Image Quality drops in the process.

So, are there any other solutions? — Yes, there are many free and open-source tools available that allow you to remove Image Metadata easily without reducing Image Quality. I also created a similar tool where you can easily remove / edit Metadata.

There are also several other useful tools available here that you can explore, including PDF editing tools (PDF Converter, PDF header & Footer editing tool, PDF watermark tool, PDF password encryption tool, etc.), Designed QR Code Generator, Portfolio Generator, Image/Video Tools, etc.

You can also save my website as an app if you want (you will see an Install as App popup when you visit). Besides, the tools can be used easily on both laptops and mobile devices. All files remain on your device, so you don't have to spend even a second uploading/downloading PDFs of several gigabytes.

Designed QR Code Generator, Portfolio Generator, Image/Video Tools etc.
